How My Handprint Business Began

In 2000, I started my ceramic handprint business, Tiny Touches, completely from scratch

At the time I was a mom with two small boys. I wanted to stay home with them, but I also needed to bring in income for my family and keep my creativity alive.

So I started experimenting with ceramic baby hand & footprints.

What began as a small creative idea quickly grew into a meaningful business working with families in my community. Over the years I created keepsakes for thousands of babies, helping parents capture tiny hands an feet they want to cherish forever.

The business also brought in thousands of extra dollars each month for my family, all while allowing me to work from home and raise my boys.

Why I teach this now?

My background is actually in teaching.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences and Secondary Education and taught high school for four years before my children were born.

After running my handprint business for over a decade, I realized something, I loved teaching others how to do this work just as much as I loved creating the keepsakes myself.

So I combined my two passions, teaching and ceramic handprints AND created the Ceramic Handprint Training Academy.

Selling My Business

After running my business for 12 years, I eventually sold it in 2012.

I sold the business to one of my own customers, someone I trusted to continue the same care and love I had poured into it.

Selling my business was an incredible experience. It showed me that something I built from scratch at home could become a real and valuable business.

I share this with you because this can happen for the very business you are beginning today.
