One of my favorite things with my Ceramic Hand & Foot Impressions business is creating the studio space for my customers.

I love having a space where they feel comfortable coming into my home.

When I started my business back in 2000, I used my kitchen table. I set up and took down on the days I had appointments. I work up over the years, to having a room just for my customers. But, until then, my kitchen table was perfect.

I have had several studio spaces over the years, as I moved at different times. This was my last one....

You will notice in the picture that the lower levels of my book shelf are empty. I learned very quickly that it was best not to have anything breakable at toddler level. If you have toddlers yourself, you are very aware of this!

 I always make sure I have many many samples for my customers to look at. I found it was good to give my customers ideas and options to pick and choose from.

You know the scene in You've Got Mail where Meg Ryan's character exclaims, "I'm A Chain?" Well that is how I feel each time one of my Ceramic Handprint Training goes out into the world. I get so excited that someone has taken the plunge and is starting their own journey of building a loving business.

 You are your own boss when you purchase my Ceramic Handprint Training ecourse and not actual a chain, but I feel a whole lotta happiness giving you the tools, to quickly, create your own successful business.

I opened my big book of trainees (you get to be in this book if you are one of my trainees) and I stared thinking and reflecting on all the people who I have gotten to meet, train, and talk with in relationship to building a ceramic handprint business. I feel so blessed to have crossed paths with you. It is fun to  know that you are experiencing the love and joy I do when I create impressions.

I have been asked, why I do what I do, why I created my own Ceramic Handprint Business and why I create a training program.

 My answer has evolved over time. When I started my little ceramic hand and foot impressions business, to be completely honest, I started because I could see the potential with the money I could make. Clay is pretty inexpensive, overhead low because I would be working from home and I knew I could figure it out.

I saw that I could easily make about $500 a week, working part time. I was good with that! (Although I ended up making more than that. :)) But I am not going to lie that the money I could make was a big part of my decision to start this business.

Once I started to grow my business I realized it was SO MUCH MORE than the money I could make.

As with everything in life it is always about more than the money.

Thankfully for me I realized that sooner than later and I was able to see that what I was building and nurturing had meaning and was important. Once...

This week I want to share a video with you addressing working this business around the family. I started this Hand and Foot Impressions business because I wanted to stay home with my children, but I also wanted to make some money and keep my brain stimulated. Can I get an AMEN?

I have been working from home for the past 20 years. I am so thankful that this business has allowed me to do that. Like I mention in the video, my kids are grown now and my flexibility with scheduling, anything, is a lot easier than it used to be, but I remember the days of juggling little ones. I was always thankful that I could snuggle a little longer in the mornings with my kiddos or take them to the doctor, if needed, without having to call into work and try and explain why I needed more time off of work.

I get many many requests for information on my Ceramic Hand & Footprint Training program. Many lookie loos who are interested but not willing to commit to training. Many who want to start a business but are scared to get started. Many people not willing to invest in themselves and pay for a training program and like to "pick my brain".  

All of that is fine and well, BUT I know my training is valuable. I know my training is comprehensive. And I know my training program will help you get a home business running and running well. 

I have put a value monetarily on my training. It is the combination of thousand of hours of blood sweat and tears. :)

I have also found that often times when someone does not feel like they are making an investment in themselves, they are not as likely to get the business up and running. There is a lot of psychology behind pricing and I could go on and on, but I won't. :)

But the bottom line is YOU have to decide you are ready.

I want you to sit back and imagine this...

You have two small children at home. You have one baby down for a nap. You have another one eating lunch and you have your kitchen table set up with your beautifully created Ceramic Hand and Foot Impression plates, you also have a customer over for an appointment.

Your appointments lasts about 25 mins. You work your magic, take some beautiful impressions. You made $200 during that time. Your customer and her cute baby leave. You cover up your clay, so you can come back to it later, because you hear your baby waking up from her nap. You go pick her up, feed the baby, get your toddler playing with toys, pull out the plates you created an hour earlier and you get to work. That work takes about 30 mins (that you can easily get up and tend to the children when they need you ) and then you are off taking the kids to the park.

See how that works?

You work your business around your kiddos.

2017....Bring it ON!

How many years have you spent sitting down on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day and written a list of your new year goals??? 

If you are like me...every year, right?!

Well, of course I still want to lose weight, make more money, improve my relationships, go on a nice vacation, read more etc. All those goals are in check and being worked on but...

This year I am making two changes that will give me more time for all of these things (above list) to manifest into my life; I am not keeping my phone by my bed during the night and I am getting up and out of bed at the same time (earlier) everyday (with the exception of a few weekend days here and there.)

I love my phone. It keeps me connected and it keeps me entertained. It makes it so I can escape for hours at a time, if I let myself. Sometimes, that is okay, everyday and night (into the wee hours of the mornings too) is not okay.

I resolve to connect more in real life. Phone calls, email...
